Finally, after literally a year of waiting for Nikon to come out with the replacement for the mighty D700, toady is finally the day. We could be more excited about getting this camera in the end of March or April, and the expectations are super high. The biggest thing we wanted was a D700 with video and we got so much more. Improvement of the industry’s best auto-focus system, 36 megapixels (don’t go hating about the file size, storage is so cheap these days), and it’s lighter to boot. I had the D4 preordered, but cancelled it today and got the D800 instead. The main reason is, we are selling our current house and hopefully buying a new one, and the $3000 difference for just a few extra features isn’t worth it at the moment. Still, in the near future (next 12 months) I hope to have both a D800 and a D4 by my side. Can’t wait to post pictures as soon as I get the camera, it’s going to be a beast.
