we aren’t doing many portrait sessions because we’re up to our knees with weddings and engagements. but when it’s the family of one of our brides, we love the chance to get to know them.

chrissy (sister of kelly – remember her fun engagement session?) is a dancer and just plain awesome. she’s a little scared of bees… but braved it out for us in some gorgeous locations!

we had to include a photo of mom as well. she told us she wasn’t photogenic… please! we love this family!

eric will be graduating from woodland high school in may and plans on majoring in music performance at either columbus state university or the university of oklahoma!

the*reason : what do you like to do when you’re not at school?

eric : when i’m not at school (although i’m there for quite a while), i like to go to the mall, go to a friend’s house, go to the movies, hang with the youth group, or just chill at home.

what’s a typical night out with your friends?

a typical night out would be going to a restaurant and overwhelming the place with the number of chairs we need a the table, then going to target or walmart and messing around with the children’s toys, then going to someone’s house to chill and eat more food.

what type of music/band makes you dance?

i love jazz, because as a musician, i’m more inclined to listen to music that makes me think, analyze, and interpret. don’t get me wrong, i love soft acoustic rock as much as the next guy, but there’s not much to it. but i’ll dance to disco/funk music!

what movie makes you happy?

harry potter, back to the future, and mr. holland’s opus are some i like. but i think my favorite movie (series) is star wars.

what is the one tv show you can’t live without?

house m.d.

what book could you read over and over?

i don’t like reading much, but i do like the da vinci code.

what food that your mom cooks will you miss most while at college?

ha, that’s funny! my mom doesn’t cook. at college, i’m going to be eating the same thing i eat at home : ramen.

any special plans or hopes for the future?

i want to be a professional musician, and i want to make the all-state band again this year.

what is your favorite photo from the session and why?

the one of me by the railroad tracks. funny thing is that the train came unexpectedly, but it added a cool effect.

meet another senior rep! alexis graduates from kell high school in may and has applied to 7 different colleges, so she’s not sure which one she’ll be attending yet!

senior spotlight * taylor

i’m so glad we got to shoot taylor’s senior session – she was absolutely adorable! she knew how to pose and what cute faces to make. she was herself in front of the camera and that’s what makes the best photos for any senior session!

taylor goes to woodland high school and is graduating in may. she has two colleges she’s considering : University of Alabama or Kennesaw State University.

right now, i’m pretty set on making dance my career. but who knows, i might want to get a job in the music industry. (:

senior spotlight * hannah joy

the last of our 3-post senior spotlight is hannah joy! one thing’s for sure – hannah has tons of personality! in the days of lame senior portraits one would pose in front of a black cloth, have their head tilted this way and that, and then hold their smile forever until the photographer decided to finally take the photo. this resulted in either closed eyes or a fake smile. thank God those days are gone! why not show exactly how you were when you graduated – the clothes you actually wore and the backdrops you actually wanted. hannah will gladly demonstrate in the photos below. :)

this past week, chris and i got to hang out with and shoot 3 amazing girls for their senior portraits. they each had such a unique style and personality that we’re going to do a senior spotlight on each of them over the next few days.

first up is hannah. she’ll be graduating from centennial high school in may and then heading to kennesaw state university to major in early childhood education and possibly double major or minor in photography! she was such a pleasure to work with… and so beautiful in front of the camera! below you’ll see the album pages we custom-designed for her (which her friends will be able to sign) along with an interview.
