Today we went to the Atlanta State Farmer’s Market ad bought some vegetables and herbs for our garden. We also snagged some free crates and Chris decided to make planters out of them. Here’s our little step-by-step guide to making them. It’s really simple and the outcome is awesome!
You’ll need some crates, soil, and flashing (it can be sharp, so be careful!):
Cut the flashing to the size of the crate and nail it to the inside corner posts of the crates (it’s thicker there). We used leftover roofing nails, but any wide heavy-duty nail will do:
Fill ‘em up with soil and plant the veggies and/or herbs:
Voila! A cute little planter. We’re really loving having the garden in our backyard.
On another note, we might start posting a few personal posts like this every once in a while – hope that’s ok with everyone.
